January 2020

My team is seeking two NY-based, non-union young actors to star in my short play “Two Kids and a Box of Bullets” at The Secret Theatre’s 2020 one-act competition.

Roles:
*Noah (a boy to play age 8-14): A nice kid with an iffy home-life
*Mick (a boy or girl to play age 8-14): Noah’s brother or sister.

*Note:
The show contains tweenage profanity and discussions of school gun violence, so we welcome submissions from older actors who can convincingly play elementary school students.

Synopsis:
Noah realizes that his big brother is plotting a school shooting. So, Noah and Mick hatch a (terrible) plan to stop it.

Rehearsals:
Rehearsals begin ASAP. Location TBD.

Tech Rehearsal:
Wednesday, January 22 at 5pm
The Secret Theatre (4402 23rd St, Long Island City, NY 11101)

Performances:
—Wednesday January 29th at 7pm
—Thursday February 6th at 7pm
—Saturday February 15th at 3pm
—Sunday February 23rd at 3pm
—Sunday March 1st Semifinal Round (TBA, if we advance to this round)
—Wednesday March 4th Final Round (TBA, if we advance to this round)

Actors must be available for ALL possible performance dates, including the semi-final and final rounds.

No pay, but there is a chance of winning cash prizes if we advance to the Final Round.
